Halloween themed drinks to die for

Halloween themed drinks to die for

The spooky season is here and nothing gets you into the spirit quite like a devilishly delightful Halloween drink or two! Whether you are looking to please a crowd with a show-stopping sipper or scare up a fun recipe without breaking the bank, here are a few of our favourite tipples for a truly Grimm night…

Make a splash at your next party

Each of our Sisters Grimm murder mystery games comes with everything you need for a party in a box, including bespoke cocktail recipes to help you make a splash. Matching your drinks to your party theme is something we excel at all year round, and Halloween is no exception. As well as recipes, we also offer wine labels so even your bottles work as part of the décor!

You can fill empty bottles with cocktail mix or soft drinks and use them as props like one group did with our pirate themed mystery.

A drink that packs a punch

When hosting a party it is not always practical to make cocktails one by one. Having a monster batch of punch is a great way to keep the thirsty hordes at bay and it can be the perfect choice to use up any spirits you might have in the house!

When making punch for Halloween, you should focus on the colours as well as any decorations or garnish you want to add. Go ‘blood’ red with cranberry, raspberry, or other red juices, and a splash of orange juice can give it a tasty flavour as well as a brighter colour. Add your vodka, rum, or even gin – all will go great with fruity flavours, just make sure you don’t mix too much or the next day really will be killer.

You can get as creative as you like with garnish and decorations, including buying different shaped ice moulds, slicing fruit into spooky shapes, and submerging a plastic hand to appear as the drink goes down.

Tricks and treats

One way to have a little extra fun this Halloween is to make a drink that is also a bit of a trick! For one of our favourites, make up a jug of jelly with an optional splash of alcohol. Top tip – match the spirit to the best flavour e.g. lime jelly with rum, orange jelly with vodka, etc. You can even make up batches as suggested below.

Once you have mixed your jelly and before it gets too cool, pour it into martini glasses. To fool your guests at first glance, add a cocktail stirrer, little umbrella, or even a candy worm to the glass and allow it to set. This will give the illusion that the drink is liquid. Try and snap a few candid pics of your guests trying to drink for an added trick to their tasty treat!

Time to shine

While floating ‘eyeballs’ and severed ‘fingers’ are a popular choice of aesthetic at this time of year, there is another way to go. Embrace the magic with an enchanting cocktail that shimmers and shines like our ‘Glass Sipper’, our Cinderella inspired cocktail from our fairy tale themed murder mystery.

Bright colours, a magic wand stirrer, and plenty of fizz can be combined to create a charming drink. For Harry Potter fans, create your own ‘butter beer’ or use a smidge of Fireball whiskey to give that added warmth like the drinks described in the books.

Our witches and wizards game includes drinks suggestions that are a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. Don’t underestimate additions like Grenadine which can be used to create multi-hued drinks that naturally appear layered. Just like magic.

Whether you are going full haunted house or opting for an enchanting Halloween, choosing a themed drink is just one of the ways you can add a little extra magic to your night. With our murder mystery games we include everything you need to throw a party to die for, hassle free and with instant delivery via digital download. Check out our killer themes today.
